Finally allocating the funds to upgrade

My impatience is growing insanely, so I've decided to drop the ball early. My current build is sigged, and here's what I've scrounged up in planning so far

Budget is between $500-700. Obviously less is more, especially since I may still very well upgrade my gpu again with 8xx release.

Suggestions/tweaks please, around my budget

I'd switch out the CPU to a 4690K. - Personally Gigabyte is the last brand I would go to for a motherboard just because of the poor stability that seems to plague most of their products. I trust Asus and MSI more and Asrock is alright I guess.

Don't want to try a new case either? I could understand if you really loved your case but there are some fine ones around to choose from.

The 8xx series isn't really expected to bring a massive performance increase, at least not one to usurp the 7xx series and make it un-noteworthy altogether. (Unlike the hop from a card like the 6970 to the 7970 where there was over a 50% performance increase) I think you'll do good with a 770 for a while if you've survived on that what you got for so long. So I wouldn't wait.

If you're using an aftermarket cooler have you made sure it's compatible with the 1150 socket?

Then a more expensive motherboard would be required, as well as a CPU cooler.

As is this isn't a bad upgrade. More GPU power then CPU (and you aren't really skimping on the CPU)

A tad overbudget to cram in a K series.

Oh and don't forget to grab an SSD as well. You can pick up a Crucial M500 128GB SSD off of Newegg for around $60. Really good deal in my opinion. An SSD would also greatly improve your builds overall longevity and decrease the risk of any data bottlenecks.

My psu about 2-3 years old, roughly. About how much headroom would I have, if any at all?
