So I have done a lot of research and these are the specs I like. If there is anything wrong with it please give constructive criticism.

intel 4790k or wait for broadwell
780ti or wait for maxwell
16gb dominator platinum 1866mhz
asus hero vII
evga supernova g2 850w
wd blue 1tb
250gb samsung 840 evo

More about : good gaming workstation build

That looks wicked. Only thing that would give you better performance would be a WD Black instead of a Blue if you can afford it. Its faster and has a better warranty(very important in HDDs)

I would make several changes on such an expensive build.

Broadwell for desktops could be as late as Q2 of next year. Only Broadwell they have really announced are the Y series for tablets and ultrabooks.

Maxwell GTX880 probably won't be faster then the 780Ti, but it may drive prices lower. (Planning on one or two myself, not sure yet)

Over spending on memory unless you plan to really overclock it. In which case, just buy faster ram in all honesty.

Still needs a case:

A few months ago I bought a phanteks enthoo primo and a h100i from corsair. But would you recommend waiting and buying maxwell or waiting and just picking up a 780ti at a lower price?

Up to you to decide to wait. In the tech world there will always be news of the next product coming out. Though if everything goes as news has reported it, we should see at least the official specs and reviews for the 880 in the next week or so.

I've not been terribly interested in many of the titles that have come out lately so my old GTX580s still do the job on everything I want to run. I can afford to wait. New unreal tournament, destiny, and star citizen I will probably give a try.

It will come out for the PS4 and Xbox first. They haven't officially released a date for the PC but they have said it will get there. Last time I checked anyway.

If they aren't doing an exclusive it doesn't make much sense to not do it really.
