Hi, I have just purchased a Sapphire R9 270X Toxic card and when I install the hardware and connect the two power cables, my computer no longer boots (cannot access BIOS or Windows). The card lights up and the fans spin, but I receive no signal to my monitor and additionally, my keyboard and mouse do not light up.

If I unplug the power cables to the card and use the onboard graphics then I can boot my machine to access the BIOS and also load Windows with no problems. The card is correctly installed in the PCI 3.0 slot and I have since removed the card and installed my old HD7800 which is also working fine.

I've tried disabling the onboard graphics completely and have set PCI as the primary display, as well as leaving both of these on their default auto, but the problem persists.

I did wonder if there was simply not enough power but the Corsair TX750 should be more than sufficient.

Here are the details of my machine:
PSU: Corsair TX750
CPU: 3.45 gigahertz Intel Core i5-3570K
Motherboard: GA-Z77-D3H
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. F8 02/21/2012
Card: Sapphire R9 270X Toxic
RAM: 8Gb
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (though not getting to the OS)

seeing you not been answered and this is my 4th time here to look at this it sure seems like a power issue and that psu should do the job

with your old card in did you try the 2 6 pins to be sure one is not bad in some way??

can you check the card in another computer that's not a prebuilt and high end enugh to run the card ?? I have seen where the pci-e slot can fail to supply the power that a card may need ... so if it cant supply the full 75w there this same issue can occur

hi, thanks for the response - I'll try a variety of 6 pins to make sure they're all working, good idea. The other machine we have here doesn't support PCI-E 3.0 unfortunately but it does make sense to try it in another machine.

unfortunately that machine only has one PCI-E power connector available, I'll see if I can get an adapter cable but if no luck I think I may have to return the card
