at 1080p resolutions the 770 outperforms the 280x by a fair enough margin but at lower resolution the 770 only beat the 280x by 4-7 fps.... therefore the 770 is a much better option of the two cards

Actually, based on the price per performance, I would go with the 280X as it is going to have almost identical performance but for less.

the guys is not leaning towards bang for buck at this moment he stated he wanted the better card which is the 770 ..they are simillar as i said at low resolutions but as soon it hits HD the 280x is going to be outclassed by the 770 .. so the only logical answer is to just be on the safe side and get the stronger one

I would go with the 280x, it's less expensive and has 3GB of VRAM so your safe in the future if games continue to use more or if you play games with visual mods.

The 280x and 770 trade off on the number 1 spot depending on what game you are playing but all things considered I would rank them equal. But due to price and future proofing I would go with the 280x.

I agree with you, I would choose the GTX 770. It is more expensive but it runs cooler and it is worth the quality, especially if you get an EVGA or MSI one.

the only difference you will see between the asus and the others is the cooling system .. which asus makes good cooling so you will be just find no need to worry..its probably better than the evga or msi

I agree, Cooling is much better but I have read of more failures than EVGA ones. Did a lot of research before I bought mine, I was scared of it backfiring especially when you are on a budget. I chose EVGA and don't regret. Well that's just me.
