Hello, I have very limited knowledge on pc's and this community has been very patient and helpful in the past so here goes. I purchased an asus m51 on sale for better performance while playing dayz standalone (had a laptop a few years old) my specs are as follows:

Processor TypeIntel Core i7 4770
Processor Speed 3.4 G
Processor Cores 4
RAM12GB (DDR3 1600MHz
Hard Drive Capacity2 TB
Hard Drive Speed (Revolutions Per Minute) 7200 RPM
Optical DriveBD Combo
Pre-loaded Operating SystemWindows 8.1
Graphics CardNvidia GTX 650
Dedicated Graphic CardYes
Video Memory1 GB

I was wondering about upgrading the graphics card, if this would enhance performance as well as what else I would NEED to do if I did this. I'm not looking for a big expensive system, just some more oomph for my dollar. I will have a professional do the installation. Thank you for your helpful and knowledgable advice in advance.

Will you only be playing DayZ or some other games too? What would be your budget on upgrading the GPU?

GTX 750 ti superclocked - if you really want to pinch a penny

GTX 760 - assuming you have around $300 to spend, and you'd see a very decent increase in performance

If you are looking for a $150 upgrade buy the GTX 750Ti if you are willing to spend more like $250 get the GTX 760

Edit:Wow sammy sung, you and I suggested the exact same GPUs XD

the gtx 770 would be a logical choice for your upgrade but the best bang for the buck in the gtx 770 class is the r9 280x .. the r9 280x is the cheaper but the gtx 770 is more powerful .. ithink if you have enough you should grab the gtx 770

I would choose the GTX 770 too but I had to ask whether the guy had the budget to buy it or not.
