I have Sapphire 5770 and i was playing Defense Grid 2 on steam, when my gpu fan started spinning like crazy. I tought it was some glitch with the game, but checking in msi afterburner my gpu was going all the way up to 95 °C, mostly was arround 90 °C? That game isn't very graphically advanced, i play battlefield 3, and the fan doesn't spin due to that much heat, even if i max out the settings. And when im not playing anything the temps are usually arround 50-60 °C. So are those temps normal, or could it fry my gpu?

Solution

no the card is probably faulty are the fans thermal paste has dried up .. you need to get the card assessed by someone in person and then post the results
