Just built a PC but it isn't displaying any video

I tried using HDMI from both the motherboard and the graphics card, but neither are showing any video on screen. I don't have a speaker so can't hear any beeps, but also don't see any LED flashing lights. All fans are working fine as well as the light on the front of the case.

What could the issue be?

I think there may be things more likely than others on the list and was wondering if anybody would have any idea.

When connected with the motherboard, the HDMI option appears as though something it is connected to something (which it is - the motherboard), however, no image appears, as mentioned before.

I imagine this wouldn't be an issue with the standoffs, but maybe the motherboard still?

Thanks for the link posted, but actually, it was of absolutely no help and the only reason I managed to fix my issue was by doing a complete rebuild and regular testing. I see now that it was actually the placement of the video card. I put it in the wrong PCI-e slot.
