Hello, my laptop has just not been working for me lately and it's time to get a new computer. I really want something that will last, and i've done alot of research into building a custom desktop instead. Only problem is, I have to go inbetween my parent's houses every week or so. Will bringing it around with me shorten the lifespan drastically? I'm also looking into getting a PC carrying case and if you know any good ones I'd love some feedback.

Thanks,

Problem is not just your computer, it's the mouse, keyboard and monitor that has to go with it. Provided you don't have a stonking big cooler hanging off the motherboard, then most probably the worst thing is the wear and tear on all the connectors, and possible damage to the monitor. If you go down in form factors to Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX (I prefer the latter over the m-ITX) you can get pretty small cases that may be relatively easy to transfer. The Bitfenix Prodigy (mini-ITX) is a case with useful carrying handles, but a Lanboy or something like that is also equipped with handles.

Thanks for the help, I think what I will do is keep a monitor at each house.
