Turned the system on while It's on breadboard, everything turns on (fans, motherboard lights, GPU, connected H60) Just no POST or video.

Whether connected to onboard MB video or GPU I receive no video to the screen and no Q codes or POST codes..

Fan on GPU is ramped to 100% on start
I can post video if needed.

The motherboard supposedly had been spilled on by my roommate, but it's hard to tell if that's what caused it. He spilt milk on the case and it got all over the freaking motherboard... So he spent some time going through and getting out all the extra curds and flakes of milk with alcohol and cue-tips.

Hoping it's not the Motherboard......

Solution

That lessens the chance of it damaging the motherboard. If the residue completely dried before powering the computer, the chance of mobo damage is very small.

Which channels are those?, not vital I hope.

No, it's probably the PSU. If bad it may or not run fans, HDDs, etc. but will never beep or display video. A dead motherboard may also not beep...
• Was the computer running when milk was spilled on it?
• No post, no video, or beeps?...
• Is there anything on the display like: ¨No signal¨ or ¨Analog / Digital¨

1. Reset the BIOS. Remove the AC power cable, remove the motherboard cell battery, press the power button and hold in for a minute, wait 5 to 10 minutes and put battery back on, connect the power cable, and start the computer.
2. Replace the Power Supply with one that's known to be working.
3. Check for milk residues in the RAM slots, motherboard PSU connectors, the PSU itself if it's bottom mounted or top mounted if the case has top ventilation.

If nothing helps, the motherboard possibly suffered damage.

Thankfully no, I had just finished setting it up on my desk so there was no power connected.

the display doesn't even wake up when powered on.

there's some residue in cpu socket, no pins are coated in the residue just stuck in the channels.
I've taken both the ram and gpu out, powered on and no beep. I assumed that meant the MB is done for. unless the speaker is on wrong?

I'll try resetting the BIOS tomorrow, it has a CMOS clear button on the back that i've already used once to no avail.
The PSU has a little residue, but the fan was bottom mounted thankfully.
I will pull my other power supply and test it that way.

A reset with battery off may be a more secure way to reset it.

The milk may have not damaged the PSU... but they can die without previous warning or apparent cause.. I've read a few cases when it died after moving the computer.
