When the BIOS starts to Post, press F12 a few times > this will access the BIOS Boot Menu > select USB HDD > Select the USB Flash > Start the installation
I get the BIOS Boot Menu, I use the arrow keys to highlight "USB-HDD", then hit enter, and then the USB-HDD is ignored and Windows boots from the Hard Disk.
Any suggestions?
I know my USB port works, because I used it today to create a bootable USB device.
Sorry for the delay in answering... I've been away for quite a while and only check occasionally for answers I may need to respond to. You may have solved the issue by now but in case you haven't, try the following.
1. You may need to enable/turn on USB support in the BIOS
2. You may also need to enable Legacy USB support
3. Set the USB-HDD as the first boot drive
4. Press key F12 to select USB-HDD as the boot device
5. Both 3 and 4 may need to be used to boot from the USB-HDD, and the USB flash drive should have obviously been made bootable.
6. You can also try disabling the HDD, and CD/DVD drive to stop them from interfering in the USB-HDD boot process, then make the USB-HDD drive as the first boot device, and use the F12 key to select booting from the USB-HDD drive.
7. If none of these suggestions works, try with a different USB flash drive, update the BIOS, set the BIOS to failproof default settings.
8. Still nothing?, try a different Bootable USB drive maker application.
