Hello, this is the first time I'm building a computer and I'm looking for the opinion of more experienced builders on the parts I've chosen and to know if I've overlooked any aspect of my build. I'm buying from Newegg.ca and I live in Montreal, Quebec. My budget is anywhere up to $1500, I'd be using the rig for gaming, I already have a monitor, I probably won't OC (but I'm keeping the option open) or run GPUs in SLI, and I will be buying an OS (windows 8.1) Here are the parts (links in spoilers)

CPU - Intel i5 4690k

Motherboard - ASRock Fatal1ty z97 killer LGA 1150

GPU - PNY GeForce GTX 770

RAM - G.Skill Trident X Series 8 GB (2 x 4GB)

Case - Corsair Carbide 500R OR NZXT Phantom 410

PSU - Corsair HX Series 750 W

That's it, I'm not sure whether to get additional fans for cooling and the Hard Drive would likely be a run of the mill 1 TB drive, unless there's a compelling argument for 2 TB. None of the parts are set in stone so feel free to make suggestions for replacements on any parts. Thanks for reading and thanks for the feedback!

Hey built it on Partpicker and forced to newegg, changed the PSU (750W is too much for the system and not enough if you go SLI), changed mobo (in case you want to go SLI this board supports it), 1TB and 128GB SSD and have some budget to spare, i would either get a 4GB version of the 770 or a 290 4GB version with the extra cash

Went upto the 290 4GB and here's the result (one thing you can do is use NCIX and price match feature if you want to try and get better deals, I order most of my stuff from Newegg but sometimes NCIX or Tigerdirect)

Thanks for the input SU, the motherboard is a good choice and I'll go with it, and the CPU cooler is a must for OCing, so I've added/changed those two parts to my build. I'll stick to 2GB on the GPU as I won't be using multiple monitors and at this point money is kinda tight. I'm also not taking an SSD, I don't really see the benefit. Just before I go ahead and buy all this, how do I know if all the parts will work together well or flat out not work together?

It'll work, motherboard is compatible with cpu, gpu works with mitherboard, psu is enough, all will work

Alright, thanks for the feedback, I guess I'll find out how it works when the parts arrive!
