My current GPU is a Sapphire HD 7850 2gb and I'm planning to do dual monitor soon. My HD 7850 is a decent card, but it's starting to fade with most games I play, My budget would be about $200-$300 for a new GPU upgrade. So what would you guys recommend, the EVGA GTX 760 ACX SC looks good. I live in Australia if that helps

R9 280 or R9 280x (more Memory) it's the best one you can find for that price range. I have the 280x and it's really good for all the new games with full hd and maximum specs (BF, AC, ...)

Would it be good enough to run Crysis 3 at decent frames on High?

Another alternative to the R9 280 and 280x is the GTX 760. I have a couple of friends that use them, they're pretty good value for money. If you'd be willing to spend a little over $300, the GTX 770 is also another fantastic option. Personally (and this is just me), I've had much better experience with Nvidia GPU's, in terms of driver compatibility and temperatures.

I am looking at the R9 280 right now, which brand would you recommend. The Sapphire R9 280 OC, the Asus R9 280 TOP edition, or the Gigabyte R9 280 OC?

Here you can find the results of the R9 280X while running Crysis 3 at high settings:

I own the ASUS R9 280X DirectCU II TOP (3GB), and it works very well with performances and with the temperature.

Honestly, I think that all the R9 280 are good graphic cards, but as mentioned above, I suggest you the Asus R9 280 (maybe X if you can afford it) ;)

The only Asus R9 280x near me is the Asus R9 280X DCT2 V2, is the bulkiness of it going to be a problem with it?

I have the Cougar Solution 67M3 mid tower case, and it holds up to 320mm in GPU size. So it should be able to hold it

I'm a tad bit confused now, will I need 2x 8pin connectors to power the gpu?
