The graphics cards are independent of the ram.

But I'd need to know what motherboard you have to see what graphics card will fit and work.

Your system is so old, it is no surprise that you are having Win 7 compatibility issues. You can get a driver from AMD though. I would not recommend wasting money on that PC.

This would be a far better upgrade than any GPU would give you, and allow you to still use your current HDD and optical drive, for now.

AGP, thats something that i haven't heard in a long time, investing in a old system is not a good idea, give us a budget of how much are you willing to spend and what do you plan to do with your pc.

Just the Graphics card is $100 and the CPU is $180 - more than logain's cpu. ram and mobo

You can get something newer that is cheaper and works better for the same money needed to upgrade yours.

The motherboard will only accept an AGP card. A different AGP card will yield minimal if any benefit.
Upgrade the motherboard to accept a more modern GPU, and you also have to change the CPU/RAM, probably the PSU, just for a start.
In effect, building a whole new PC.
