7 passes enough in overwriting?

Ok I am a bit anxious..

I used thousands of pirated softwares.. From the moment and on I will never use illegal software..

I want fully clean my hard disk.. I want my data gone... I meant programes games and stuff

And Would 7 passes with DBAN do it? :)

Paranoid much ? Just format and use only what you need or try to find Free alternatives, for instance, i use now Online Office (Free from MS), it requires you to have your files in OneDrive but for the simple tasks that i need to do in Office this one is more than enough for me + it has an android version so that i always have the same file on my phone and on my PC.

I just wish Adobe would lower the price of Premiere to 12$/month just like they do with Photoshop + LR for photographers.

And from my point of view even a 2 time overwrite would do ... unless you have some government shit in your drive and i would suggest to just throw it in a fire the smash it with a hammer :D

What you want is actually called a zero-fill software. You can use the free edition of HDShredder. It's actually good for refreshing the hdd's sectors, too.
Basically, this software will put every cell in the 0 state (empty). 5 passes should do it (standard - fastest)
