Hey everyone,

I'm planning on upgrading my Rig soon and add another GTX 770 SC.

My current set up:

MOBO: Asus Asus ROG Maximus VI Hero Motherboard
    CPU: Intel i7 i7-4770K Processor (4x 3.50GHz/8MB L3 Cache)
    RAM: 8 GB [4 GB X2] DDR3-1600 Memory Module - Corsair Vengeance
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 SC 2GB
PSU: 700W OCZ ModXStream Pro - 80 PLUS

I currently own this one: http://

Can I add another identical GPU as it is now or would I need to upgrade my PSU?

This is the GPU I Plan to upgrade to : http://

If I do need to upgrade my PSU, what would you recommend?
Also, are the cables the same? As in , "can i just plug out the old psu and use its wires to plug into the new psu?

Thanks for your help, everyone!

It will use around 600 W max (the whole system), so it is enough. But not if you will be overclocking.

One of those links is to a 770 and the other links to a 760. Might want to fix that ;)

Two 770s on a 700 watt PSU is pushing it and i wouldn't recommend it (the calculator is usually use if offline atm though, so I might be off a little). You definitely won't have room to overclock on 700w.

It's not recommended to use old cables with a new PSU. Unless it's an exact same model, which would be pointless in this case.

Check out this list for a nice 800-850w PSU: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589...

EDIT: To clarify, using old cables isn't recommended because even if they fit the pin layout can be different, leading to a badly- or non-functioning PSU.

Those PSUs have a terrbile reputation, and I wouldn't risk 2xGTX770 on it. My brother had one of them fill his room with smoke and he was only running a single GTX 560ti 448 core. Go with a quality 850w unit like the guy above me recommended.

Are you saying you are planning to SLI? If so, your PSU doesn't even have a dual set of 6 pin/6+2 pin connectors in which case I'd be looking for a PSU that is at least 750 W. A GTX 770 will draw around 200W maxed and remember, you have other devices pulling power as well, especially if you are oc'ing.

Very Informative. I will look into a new PSU as well. One question. I'll only need to remove and swap the PS and cables right? As in, they should be around the same size so I wont need to worry too much about fitting it?

I've decided to go ahead with this one.

The PSU will be the same size, if it adheres to the ATX standard anyway, but virtually all PSUs do. There are mATX PSUs which are smaller and I'd avoid those if your current PSU is a normal ATX PSU (and I'm pretty sure it is).
The cables can vary in length a bit but it shouldn't be a problem to just swap them out.

EDIT: Removed accidental quote, sorry.
