When it comes to memory, does brand and performance really makes a big difference?

As of right now, I am using ADATA 8GB DDR3 memory for my i5 4670. As I look online, I see tons of vendors with many gamer centric performance memories which costs premium. Will those memories make a meaningful difference on my computer?

The reason I am asking this is because whenever you talk about performance, usually GPU and CPU comes to play, RAM hardly gets mentioned. Even though personally for me jumping to SSD was the biggest performance leap I had in ages.

Thanks

Any memory up from 1600MHz with CL9 or lower, will have minimal impact in gaming no matter how godly the build is.
A CL7 1600 will perform marginally better than 2400/11, which is usually more expensive. But those are not worth convincing someone to spend $10 more for 1-2 FPS max.

some boards can be finicky I got memory that did not work too well on one build but work real well in another

what works good for 100 people may not for you so I just feel its back to what I said above

look over your boards memory test list and see if theres one on it that would suit your needs it may have a better chance to work out in the end over something that's not [opinion]

Just as I thought, I never ran into memory issues when it comes to reliability. I don't care about looks of anything that is inside my system especially as small as RAM.

Thanks!
