Solution

My little brother is running a core i7 930 and I tried my GTX 780 on his computer and the graphics card runs flawless. So I dont think you have to worry about bottle necking.

I wouldn't think so. PCIe 2.0 at x16 hooked up to any of the x58 i7 should probably be fine. If it is bottlenecked it wouldn't be a significant amount. In SLI with both running at 2.0 8x, there might be room for argument. But we would really need to see the official bandwidth numbers of the 880 to see.
