Here is my situation: I was getting a blue screen with an error code: 'bugcode_usb_player" on my XPS laptop.

Dell replaced the motherboard, but the error continued (though less frequently). They sent a tech to replace the motherboard again, but when the new motherboard was installed it was dead. Wouldn't receive a charge, wouldn't power up. So the tech put in the old one and rebooted. It powered up fine, went into windows, but the mouse wasn't working. So he shut it down and then checked the connections to make sure that wasn't the problem. When he tried to reboot the motherboard was dead. Wouldn't receive charge, wouldn't power up. So they sent me a new laptop.

I kept the old hard drive with all my files and want to transfer the files to my new laptop. However, when I plug the drive to a SATA and search the files, I only get system/hidden files. None of my personal files are there.

Any thoughts on what might be happening here?

It's a solid state hard drive. I wonder if that has something to do with it? Did I perhaps unkowingly save files somewhere else? I read on another thread about a secondary internal drive. Not sure about that. I think my hard drive was partitioned as well. So could that be part of the issue?
