Hi all. I am looking at buying a Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H and an Intel Core i5-4570, but I've come across some conflicting information about compatibility.

Will I need to flash the BIOS of the board in order to get the CPU to work? The CPU is a Haswell Refresh. If yes, will I need an older CPU to work with? I'm upgrading from an AMD system, so I don't have one. The Gigabyte website says that they are compatible with the F12 BIOS, but I can't find any information about what the board comes with. Another website that checks compatibility didn't find any problems, but some people have said that it could be a problem.

If it won't work, any suggestions for a CPU/MOBO combo in about the same performance and price ranges?

Thanks for your input.

If they send you MB with old BIOS (like it was in my case, even though it was advertised differently, bastards...), you will need some CPU that is supported by that BIOS version in order to install new one (BIOS and CPU). Or to take it to service to do it for you.
