Hello,

If I put an Apu which sports 'on chip' video card with 2 GB memory and 4 gb DDR 3 ram, and I dont put in any graphics card will the apu 'block' 2 gb ram as video ram? If not, where does the 2 gb video memory comes from ? Does the FM2/+ motherboards which support APUs have this video ram on board?

thanks.

In BIOS, you set the maximum amount of system RAM that your iGPU will be able to use. I have set 2 GB (which is max on my MB) for my APU. It will not "block" that 2 GB. If iGPU needs say 512 MB of RAM in some application, then it will only "block" 512 MB of system RAM, not the whole 2 GB.

APU uses same RAM as CPU (system RAM).
