Mainboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate
CPU: Intel G3528 4.3 GHz with OC Genie
GPU: Sapphire HD Radeon 5450 GDDR3 1GB
RAM: 4GB DDR3 800MHz
HDD: One 250GB WD and one 2TB WD Caviar Green

My budget is $100, as amazon has granted me a gift card.

I made a post a few days ago asking for graphics card options, and was pointed to the HD 7770 and the R7 260X. These are both seemingly excellent choices, however I am having a dilemma.

I've been looking around and have gotten quite overwhelmed as I have been looking at these:

GT 740 Superclocked 2GB http://goo.gl/ctrisv
GT 740 Superclocked 4GB http://goo.gl/VNLCBM
R7 250X http://goo.gl/gBlr9P
R7 250 2GB GDDR3 http://goo.gl/mIoFVl
HD 7770 GHz Edition (or it may have been OC) http://goo.gl/0ed9S7
650 Ti 1GB GDDR5 http://goo.gl/l06tc6

The benchmarks are solid for these cards for the most part, and they are all within my budget but I am also looking for the card that provides the most longevity, because I don't upgrade often.

Get the GT 740 Superclocked 4GB. You'll be able to play more games with 4GB of ram.

For that amount of money, the r7 260x or the HD 7770ghz are the best options IMO.

Are you kidding me? That is by far the worst card he listed. With only a GT 740, 4gb of ram is utterly useless. He won't be able to run anything at high enough settings to ever use even half of the ram, lol.

Guys, guys there's no need to argue about this. Can I ask why you recommend those cards the most?

They will give the most performance for the money. ;)  Well the GTX 650ti isn't a bad choice either.

PS: I wasn't trying to argue with him. Just stating the facts, lol. That card is marketed towards people that don't know any better and would automatically assume a 4gb card is better than what it is. In reality a GTX 740 may never even use 1gb of ram unless someone enjoys playing at high resolultion with 10-20fps only. I doubt anyone would want to do that anyway. It would be better to lower the resolution, which would also use less ram making 4gb even more pointless on a card like that.

Oh shoot, you know what I forgot to mention? I normally play at 720p with medium to high settings on a 23" TV...does that make a difference at all?

That irritates me so much too, that companies do that. I am not all that ignorant, however I used to be the kind of guy that would just assume the higher the GB, the better the card. I learned that lesson a few years ago with a dumb purchase and since then I have been learning more and more all I can about GPUs and their abilities before making a purchase.

For the resolution you will be running, it should be fine. :)
