Mouse will not work

I recently got a new mouse (hp x1000) but it doesn't seem to respond. The red light is on but nothing came up about it installing when i plugged it in. Also when the mouse is plugged in it constantly makes the windows disconnect sound. please help

Sorry i should have thought of that, ya i tried it on my chromebook and it worked fine but still when i plug it into the pc it just comes up as HID compliant mouse and doesnt work

Im wondering if it has something to do with the fact that i have a wireless microsoft key board and my old mouse was a wireless microsoft mouse, cause when i plug in the mouse and look at hardware in properties it says "Manufacturer: Microsoft" which is clearly wrong

i can post screen shots if that would help

With my old mouse i have this

well i used it when i was taking the screen shots cause the x1000 doesnt work but even when i have nthe wireless mouse plugged out the x1000 doesnt respond
