I am buying an i5 3470 it is an lga 1155 socket and im also buying an ASrock b75m dgs motherboard. The motherboard is lga 1155 but is that all that needs to be compatible or do i need some sort of ivybridge compatible mobo? And also can the mobo bottle neck my cpu or my gtx 750

Yes your CPU and board is compatible. You should be fine with this setup if you aren't overclocking and aren't ever going to upgrade to high end GPUs. IF you are, I suggest a Z77 board.

BTW...why are you buying an ivy bridge CPU now? You can get much better options and performance , for cheaper if you use haswell ( or even the AMD equivalents)
