Reinstalling windows 8

I have a laptop which black screen after login but all programs are running and i can ctrl+alt+del just fine but windows explorer dosen't ever boot. which is why i've decided to reinstall windows 8 or atleast return it to factory settings.

I don't use windows 8 that much at all so i've figured you wonderful people could help me with this task: How do i return a laptop with windows 8 to factory settings when it came preinstalled with windows 8 on it, do i need a product key and if so can i view it using the task manager or bios?

Hope you guys can help it would be greatly appreciated.

i don't have any documentation on this laptop, is there a way to see the specs with what i have acess to right now?
all i can read from the stickers is that its a HP pavillion laptop, probally low end (32 bit).

Found the specs HP Pavilion 15-e073so but i can't find the model on the site you linked

If you could help me with this last thing when i try to do a system recovery it says that "The drive where windows 8 is installed is locked, unlock the drive and retry". how do i unlock the drive?
