Managed to pull out an old HDD out of my windows XP 2004 pc. Think it is sata 3gbs or 1.5. 250gb of storage. i already have a primary 1 tb hdd and a 120 gb ssd, so any ideas what to do with the Old one?
(don't you dare say anything sarcastic now)

Hmm, attaching a blade to the platter would make for an entertaining slicer...not really enough horsepower for a blender.

On a more serious note, some people take the cover off, drill a hole through the center and add a quartz crystal clock mechanism to turn it into a desk clock.

I wouldn't trust a ten year old hard drive with anything important.

Well, could i use it for ubuntu (as an alternative OS?)

"I wouldn't trust a ten year old hard drive with anything important."

Exactly. Don't entrust it with the only copy of anything that's important to you. Scratch space would be perfect, except it would be the slowest drive on your system and that would slow things down. Downloading large games as temporary storage before you install them?
