Hey Guys,

I own a 2008 Acer Aspire. It has a Dual Core 2 GB processor, integrated video, and 2 GB of ram, which i just increased to 4GB (the systems' max RAM)

It has increased the speed of the laptop dramatically, but sometimes ill notice it will get bogged down, and do the famous "XX program is not responding"

I have recently installed windows 8.1.

But i need some opinions, i cannot upgrade the processor,or the video since its on the motherboard. Should i start out new, or what are some of your suggestions?

Thanks!

you could buy an SSD to replace your hard drive, that will put a little bounce in it's step. But otherwise you are fairly limited. My wife loves laptops. I really dont care for them, for this reason. a Desktop you can perpetually upgrade whereas a laptop you are pretty much married to the hardware you start with.
