Hello, I recently changed my HDD to a SSD on my Acer AM330 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) I used to have an Radeon HD6770 installed on it so after I set up the new hard drive and installed Windows and all that jazz, I tried to install the graphics card. I downloaded the newest stable release 14.4, I powered down my PC, installed my card, switched my monitor to the card, powered up, checked BIOS to see if it was set to primary and that the integrated one was off (the option was on auto and it was greyed out so I left it alone), then I logged in and installed the software. However after I installed it failed...the driver is never recognized.. If I use the version that comes with the card (11.something) it works... but the game I play has artifacts and such. I tried to disable the onboard graphics via device manager and tried to reinstall but that didn't work either...

If anyone could offer a step-by-step process I should try, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your time.

Edit: Forgot to mention I have an Antec 430w psu installed.

Try uninstalling the driver package again. Then run Driver Sweeper from safe mode (F8). Have it remove any remnants of Nvidia and AMD drivers it can find. Re-boot, run CCleaner (do the Clean and Registry portions both), and then try installing the new driver again.

EDIT: You may want to run CCleaner first and see if that alone fixes the problem

Hello, thank you for your response, I have never used CCleaner before, I'll try to use that first. When I uninstall CCC via control panel should I take out the graphics card after? Or can I leave it in there, reboot, run CCleaner, reboot, then reinstall ?

Edit: I tried your first method and it worked! Thanks so much :)

Great. Glad to hear it solved your problem. But to answer your previous question, you can leave the card in. Drivers are only needed for Windows. They play no part in the system before Windows is loaded.
