I've just been out and bought a SSD and I've installed a copy of windows 7 onto it.
I still want to use by old HDD for storage and would preferably like to keep my data as it is 2TB nearly full.
I have just bought a 4TB external as well so I can easily move stuff about between the 2.
The biggest pain is games, I have quite a collection on my HDD...
Is there a way to keep my games on my HDD whilst removing windows?

No this is not really possible because your game installation was linked to the windows install.

What you will have to do is reinstall the games on your new drive or your ssd.
You will have to lookup for each game what the procedure is, but you should be able to backup or copy the saved game data from the old install to the new one.

Steam and Origin games can (mostly) be moved from drive to drive. Anything else, and all you other applications will need to be reinstalled.

I thought that might be the case, bummer. Thanks for the advice I'll get looking for my saved game data.
