Best fm2+ CPU

What is the best fm2+ CPU out there? I'm using a athlon ii x4 750 at the moment and I want to improve that to help get the best out of r9 290 gfx card. Thanks.

The best to pair with a r290, is really a different CPU socket. A card that powerful, you want to pair either with an AMD 8320/8350 or an 3rd/4th generation I5/I7

FM2 platform is a budget platform. When you start to use high end hardware like that 290, it is just going to fall on its face.

You are better off overclocking what you have vs buying something new for your current platform. Nothing out is an upgrade. Even then, your CPU is still too weak to properly feed an R9 290. You will need a Haswell i5, i7, or Xeon E3 1230, or better, to properly handle that GPU.

Does that mean I'll need a new motherboard then? And will a better CPU give me more fps Do You Think? I feel my cpu is bottle necking my card from doing a few benchmark tests

Yes you do. Your CPU is definitely bottlenecking a 290.

Oh one more question. How would i overclock my cpu? That's if I can it says 4.00 GHz Turbo I don't know if that means it's already overclocked?

I use an Athlon x4 760k and a EVGA gtx 760 and i can run BF4 at about 50 FPS with the game setting son a mixture of medium and high
