Looking for low-profile Micro ATX CPU cooler for i7-4790k

I'm looking into ordering a new z97 motherboard and i7-4790k CPU for my HP Pavilion desktop and want to find a small performance CPU cooler for it. I don't expect to overclock the CPU right away, but I will probably do so in about 1-2 years. But the main thing is that I want something which will fit in my case and work better than the stock Intel cooler. Any ideas on what I should order? Also, I have the Antec Formula 7 thermal compound. Should I use that or the stock thermal compound for better cooling efficiency? My motherboard has obsolete technology with limited compatibility for added hardware and is due for an upgrade. I'm gradually converting a pre-built PC into a custom build. I also want to be able to get a future-generation enthusiast GPU which will run well without any CPU bottlenecks for games like GTA V, Battlefield Hardline, and The Crew. This is the upgrade setup I'm interested in. I just want to find a nice CPU cooler for it that will work. Will that CPU last me at least 5 years?

Well, there is an issue with having six 2 GB RAM sticks. The new motherboard will have four DIMM slots, so I will only be able to use four of my RAM sticks. Will my current RAM still have good enough latency ratings or is upgrading the RAM to 1600 MHz modules recommended?
