Hello everyone. I plan to build a PC this month, and there's a problem that I met which concerns cooling. My build will feature alredy mentioned Sapphire r9 295x2 and i7 4790k which will have h100i cooler. The question is do I need any additional cooling except for 295x2's native liquid cooling and h100i for my processor?

I will appreciate any information you can offer.

I would go for the Noctua NF-F12 PWM IndustrialPPC 2000RPM - 120mm in push/pull on the Radeon (this will definitely help with the heat) I have them on the rad with my MSI 295x2 and they do an amazing job of pushing the heat out of the case and away from the other components. I also have an i74770K on a H100i (but am considering getting the H220-x from specialtech (as this has noticable better cooling than the H100i as far as I have heard).

i did initially have a gold theme running in my case,

but had to switch to performance over looks as the heat was throttling my system (i guess thats the price you pay for a card that runs this hot. I am now considering a loop just for the r9 and i'll probably stick it with a 360 Rad upfront.

Hope that helps

Hello! This is for the most part the best type of cooling setup
kNHy6R5.png

You want more intake then exhaust. This will prevent dust because of the positive pressure doesn't allow the dust much time to settle. For the air cooler, you would probably want a noctua nh-d14 (alot of people will suggest the hyper 212 evo, but your rig is too high end for that. Not bad, but this is much quieter and cooler).

Here, take a look at these. I personally prefer the dark rock pro 3 and the nh-d14. They actually perform better than a corsair h100i for the most part.

Dark Rock Pro 3:http://www.amazon.com/Be-Quiet-Dark-Cooler-LGA775/dp/B00HPX7IKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409532601&sr=8-1&keywords=dark+rock+pro+3

NH-D14:http://www.amazon.com/Noctua-Heatpipe-Bearing-Cooler-NH-D14/dp/B002VKVZ1A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409532634&sr=8-1&keywords=nhd14

Personally, I think this thermaltake one is ugly but also good performance:[/b]http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Frio-Universal-Cooler-CLP0575/dp/B004PIRAXI/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1409532643&sr=1-8&keywords=cpu+cooler

Overpriced and HUGE but looks badass,

Coolermaster v8 gts:http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-GTS-Performance-Horizontal/dp/B00E0EXYDC/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1409532643&sr=1-2&keywords=cpu+cooler

Cant quite see how he is going to get either of those recommended air coolers in along side the r9's stock cooler in push/pull on the back as an exhaust (which is definitely recommended as a single fan is just not going to cut it).

Hello. Can you please restate that? I didn't really understand what you meant. If you are saying they won't fit, then you are probably right. I just need to know what case he is using to see if he could either front or top mount the 295x2's cooler or rotate the nhd14 and put it in vertically. Hmm, we need to wait for his response.

Get corsair air series coolers, if you can afford a r9 295 x2 you can get the swiftech 220 , it's one of the best coolers out there for cpu, always use top and back as exhaust, use side, bottom and front for intake, corsair air series are nice fans or noctua do quiet ones,

The nzxt kraken x61 is awesome. It is a really nice cooler and it is worth it if you want great custom loop like cooling.

Thank you very much. But isn't swiftech H220-X better?
