Hey guys,
Currently, i'm still in that painful process of ordering my computer parts little by little, and the most recent part I bought was the FX 8350, along-side the Hyper 212 Evo. I have only one main concern, and that is how far I can take the 212, because I do plan on overclocking the CPU to at least 4.5 GHz, and am wondering if the 212 will be sufficient enough, or if I should just go with a standard liquid cooling kit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

In order to out perform the 212 EVO with water, you'll need to go with a 240mm radiator cooler. Most 120mm units aren't any better than the 212 EVO. I have the 212 EVO on both the rig in my sig below and on a system with an old 125W Phenom II X4 965BE @ 4.0 GHz. Neither processor comes anywhere close to being too much for the EVO. I'd suggest going with the EVO and see how it performs for you. As inexpensive as it is, you won't be out much.

You should be fine with the EVO, I had it on the build in my specs before i switch to the H100i. Temps aren't really much different, like 5-10C at most (in favor of the H100i). I only switched cause i had a little extra left over in my build budget, and the 212 took up alot of room. Basically I switched for aesthetics. I agree with clutchc though try it out, watch your temps, then decide from there.
