Hey. :)

I have an old HP dc7600 Small form factor, Specs:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86ghz
GPU: Asus geforce 210 1GB
RAM: 2GB (2x1gb) ddr2 800mhz (i will upgrade to 4gb)
PSU: 240 watt

And im planning to buy a Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 (about 60W) for about 120$, yes it will fit in my small case,
but my question is, could this Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 work on it? :??:
my old Geforce 210 is working fine, with around 35W (25W difference) power consumption, i can run GTA IV, Assassin's Creed 2 and Mafia 2 on low settings
But i want to try more games, like Battlefield 3, on medium settings if possible (i know my CPU crap)

And my second problem is, my PCI port version 2.0, and the HD 7750 3.0, will it work? :??:

Thanks in advance :)

Solution
If there is insufficient power for the PC with the new graphics card installed, it may simply not boot or the system may crash intermittently. This should not cause any hardware issues in the short term.

Graphic card companies will always bloat the "minimum power requirements" because the quality and age of power supplies varies greatly. Manufacturers will try to state what they feel will comfortably run the card in question. Just as an example, a brand new 240 watt power supply from a quality manufacturer may run an HD7750 whereas a seven year old 500 watt power supply from a lower quality manufacturer will not run it.

Assuming you're referring to the Low-Profile version of the card, yes, it will 1) physically fit in the case and 2) be completely compatible with your PCI-E 2.0 graphics card slot. The specs for that card do state a minimum 400 watts power supply. There's no telling that your old 240 watt PSU will be able to provide enough stable power.

Yes the minimum PSU for that card is 400W, but that thing is never correct in my opinion, i know some guys running this card on 300W PSU, and i want to know if i can run it with a 240W PSU

I used a PSU calculator site http://www.extreme.outervision.com
and filled in the following devices:
- 1 physical CPU
- Regular desktop (mobo)
- Intel core 2 duo e6300 1.86ghz
- 2 sticks ddr2 sdram
- AMD radeon hd 7750
- 2 HDDs
- 3 USB devices
- 1 Fan
And the results were:
Minimum PSU Wattage: 169 W
Recommended : 219 W

The PSU will work, but it's really old plus it's manufactured by HP (they make their own PSUs). Also I don't think it can output anywhere near 240 watts on the +12v rail. Plus it probably suffers from bad voltage ripples, poor efficiency... Bottom line: PSUs from major brands HP, Dell, are fine for their product, but once you start spending money and adding aftermarket parts to it, you definitely want a new one.

Thanks for the GPU suggestion but my choices are limited, that GPU isnt available in my location, and i don't know if Amazon/Newegg delivers to my location (morocco)

And i don't think that i can upgrade the PSU since its a small form, i have another one 300W but it wont fit in my SFF case.
My choices are limited, i want to buy this GPU only to run BF3 @1024x768 medium settings and 30-40 FPS stable.

@Wolfshadw,
if i buy it i can't get my money back, but im a getting a good PC soon, but without a GPU, and it will work on it 100%
CPU: i3-4130
RAM: 4gb
PSU: 400W

another question: if i put this card on my 240watt PSU, and it doesnt get enough power when i boot my PC, will it burn? or the PC will be damaged? because if it doesnt work i will keep it for my next PC

@modrenwar99 as i said that "minimum requirements" thingy is never correct, they always increase the requirements to support companies i think
with that CPU i can run (800x600 low settings 30FPS) GTA IV - Skyrim - Mafia II - AC II - NFS Hot pursuit - Just cause 2 - BF Bad company 2 - ETS 2 - Black ops 2 etc..

Hey! Can I run an HD7750 on a 250 watt PSU? I saw in this thread (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2278623/graphic-card-7750-work-240watt-psu.html] That they had it running on a 240 watt PSU.
