ASUS X55 slow all around proformance

i just bought this laptop the other week. i understand the performance isnt the greatest but its supposed to work good for an every day laptop. now when i play my games such as Beamng Drive i get like 9fps on average and as low as 3fps..... and from what ive read i should get at least 20fps even tho its not a gaming laptop. and on the internet its still pretty slow a lot has to do with my wifi but shouldn't be this bad. help would be great on how to increase my overall proformance!

p.s. this is the first computer ive actually used in 3 years cuz ive been using my phone so im pretty out of date with this stuff

Specs please? BeamNG is pretty intensive, and even good laptops are looking at ~40 fps. (bubbleawsome over there)

EDIT: As best I can tell you either have a pentium or celeron in that thing. Neither will run BeamNG well. 2GB of RAM is hurting you a lot too. Along with intelHD (which even on my 4670k gets me about 20 fps on lowest settings)

I doubt you were supposed to get 20 fps on it.
