Well I've been looking around at parts and I think I've got a general idea of what I want. A few questions first though.

What do you guys think of this mobo?

Next question is what CPU should I pair up with it?

Would this be alright?

Thanks ahead for any help or checking this out!

Outlander says it all. What are you building the pc to do? If you're on a tight budget and wont' be doing gaming then the A10 would be fine. If you ever want to game though, I'd really recommend going for an AM3/AM3+ board and using a dedicated graphics card. Again, hard to make a suggestion without knowing your intent.

If you want to do gaming, I would seriously consider a dedicated video card. The mobo you have has way too much flare. If you've got an a10 you probably wont be running 2+ graphics cards so why get the space for them. I would do something like:
AMD FX-6300
Gigabyte GA-78LMT
Radeon HD 7770

That'll out perform an A10 and then you won't be bottlenecked by the A10 if you wanted to up the gpu someday.

I do hate to completely throw away someone's original idea though. If you are set on the A10 and that mobo, they are compatible and could work, just not the best option. imo.

Oh, if you have a graphics card, you don't need an APU. The A10 is made to better support GPUless machines, particularly laptops. An i5 as legend suggested or a 6 or 8 core amd cpu + average mobo will probably serve you much better.

Is there a total budget for this build ?

There would be no point spending $300 on a cpu and mb and then $40 on a graphics card...........

read the thread about how to ask for advice so people can help you in a meaningful way

I have read the sticky and I do apologize about the lack of a properly structured thread. Please allow me to try this again.

The reason I am upgrading is one part interest and learning, and one part a desire for a more polished visual and increased performance while gaming. My FPS is generally lacking on medium to medium-high settings. My computing uses usually tend to be casual web browsing and playing games. When it comes to games I tend to bounce around quite frequently with new releases and steam sales, etc. Currently I rotate around with WoW, LoL, CS:GO, Sims 3 (soon to be sims 4 as well), Minecraft, and Planetside 2. Far Cry 3 is on my list and so is Battlefield 4.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next month or sooner

Budget Range: $600-$800 would be the most.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Casual Web Browsing

Are you buying a monitor: I would like to pick up a nice 27" (give or take) sometime. Not necessary for this though if the other parts hit the budget.

Parts to Upgrade: Looking for recommendations for: CPU, Mobo, Case, PSU, SSD, and Case Fans / CPU cooler if needed.

Do you need to buy OS: I can if I need to.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I'm familiar with newegg.com over most other site, however I'm not picky.

Location: Midwest Illinois

Parts Preferences: None

Overclocking: Not likely. I may strike an interest someday though.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Additional Comments: I'm just looking for increased game performance, so I can either upgrade individual parts or do a complete build depending on what you guys think. I'm okay with reusing parts from my current setup too.

Current Setup Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, AMD Phenom II x6 2.7GHz, ASUS Radeon HD 7770, 8GB DDR3 1333 RAM, Apevia 700W PSU (I have already been informed this PSU is junk). This is the computer when I bought it stock.

Any advice is appreciated. I'm trying to learn more about pc components. If I have left out any information let me know so I can post it. Thanks ahead of time!

What are your thoughts? Great graphics card and if you plan to overclock in the future, then just slap on a CPU cooler.
