I just recently was given 500 dollars. I thought about putting it towards college but decided there are more important things out there! lol So, with my 500 dollars, should I buy a new Xbox one (with or without Kinect) a PS4, or should I save thee money for a desktop geared for gaming. And just a heads up, I currently have an xbox 360, a PS3, and the new Razerblade 14 inch.

Thank you all for the help. Also, if anyone could recommend any games, I'm looking for something I can invest a lot of time into but won't get bored of!

go for a gaming rig because of the ingame customization that is not possible in consoles also a rig would also be more powerful than a console in terms of performance
you can give this build a try..

I'd say save for a PC, because I think they're better. Only thing consoles really have are a few exclusives. Use Pcpartpicker.com and build something you want. Then you could gradually buy parts as you can afford them. PC's can be upgraded, used for many other functions.

As far as games go, depends on your style. A few suggestions:

Civilization 5
Battlefield 4
Mass Effect series
Far Cry 3 // 4 soon
Tomb Raider
Assassin's Creed series
SimCity (2013)
Any Elder Scrolls game (even the online game is pretty decent)
Plenty of MMO's

Plus Steam just wins. STEAM!!!!

Have a fiddle with the parts in this. Might I suggest look around for a better GPU. The 560ti 2gb phantom is a better card in other ways. Just look around
