Processor AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
Memory 8.2 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit

I want to be able to run new games normally or at the very least at low settings. I'm tired of always having to put older games at low setting and still lagging like Payday 2. If you need more information on my systems please let me know!

Yes you should definately upgrade. What's your budget to throw for a GPU? Your MoBo will most porbably support any newer GPU as it supports the FX 8, but telling its model would also help. Moreover, what wattage and model is your PSU?

PSU, Motherboard, and computer case model / OEM system model (HP, Dell, Etc) would be useful so we know what your power limits are and how big of a GPU can be put in your system. Oh and a budget.

PSU: 500W Model: ATX-TL 500W-BK
Motherboard: AMD 760G
OEM: CyberpowerPC (I think this is what you're talking about?)

As far as a case model I wouldn't have a clue on finding out what it is considering it was pre-built. I can provide the link from NewEgg if that'll help. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The PSU is 500W, which is not optimum for high end cards and is most probably not high quality. The best I'd advice to go with that PSU will be GTX 750 Ti, which'll be a big upgrade from GT 610. The MoBo will support it and so will the case (its not a biggest card). 750 Ti is around $130-150 with the best one being EVGA:

That's within my price range! Would I be able to just upgrade my PSU and get an even better card? Would I need to upgrade anything else? By the way guys thanks a lot, you guys are making this very easy and understandable! The PSU is internal BTW!

Yes upgrading your PSU would allow you to get a better card. But that'd come at a premium price. Something like GTX 760 or R9 280 or R9 270X from $200+ price range + around $60 for PSU. That'd actually double the total cost vs getting a single 750 Ti. The performance gain would be considerable (10-20 FPS) but not significant enough to shell out another $150 combined.

And anyways, even a 760 or 270X will struggle on all settings maxed out, its like 760 (or 270X) is 'very comfortable on all settings on high' vs 750 Ti 'fine with all settings on high'. My opinion, get a 750 Ti now, R9 270X is obviously better and worth the extra $50 but certainly not worth extra $120-150.

Thanks man! I've bookmarked the link for the 750 Ti and will definitely buy it! Just one more question if you could spare the time. How well would this run games like DayZ standalone, Payday 2 or even battlefield 4?

Well High preset on any of the games mentioned should not be an issue with 40-50 FPS. On ultra settings with AA, shadows and stuff on high it'll yield anything around 30-40 FPS, not an uberly pleasant experience. I'd say play the games on high with AA/ shadows/ textures/ motion blur and other settings on moderate to get respectable 50+ FPS.
