Hello, I'm after some advice on my upcoming gaming laptop purchase. Being a desktop gamer I'm keen to get a high-end laptop to allow me to keep the settings cranked up. I think I have narrowed it to 2, the MSI dominator pro with an 880m or a custom Scan 3xs build with 2 x 880m in sli. While I can find many comments and reviews on MSI laptops I can find very little on 3xs. I often use scan for desktop components so trust them as a retailer. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

The 3xs systems are quite value for money imo, they have good warranty and will oc it for you etc, not to mention they let you change parts which msi don't

Thanks guys, the msi is around £1700 and the scan £2000, don't fancy going any higher which discounts Alienware.

The battery is a concern for me on the Sli, I don't expect to game unplugged but would like an element of portability around the house.

I'd love a Razer blade but I'm put off by the 860m, also I think I'd have to purchase from the US and get it shipped to the UK.

Awaiting a call back from Scans 're the battery.

Also looking at an Asus based on i7baby Comment but still feel more swayed towards the msi or scan

Thanks for all your replies, very much appreciated. I'm looking to spend up to £2000 which rules out the alienware unfortunately.

The only thing I am certain of is having an 880m or 2, 17" screen. Primary use is going to be gaming, currently older titles but I don't want to find myself in a position anytime soon where the laptop would be struggling to play any new releases.

One potential I was weighing up against the scan LG1716 is:

I'll take a look the links posted - thanks again for your replies, didn't expect this sort of response.
