Just built a new gaming desktop for gaming at 1080p ultra....
But there is a problem.....
A friend told me that you could only game at 1080p if you have a 1920x1080 monitor.....
Is that true....
Thanks in advance.

Solution
Yes it will, it's like the difference between 1080p and 1440p, 1440p will look better, but a 720p will be omay I guess, first thing to upgrade doe would be a monitor
yes, because it needs that specific amount of pixels to make it '1080p' , you can't have a monitor with less pixels less than 1920x1080 as it doesn't have enough pixels on teh screen to support it, 1080p monitors are quite cheap right now, you can get one for under $100

tbh, if you're still using a 720p which is I'm guessing 1366x768 resolution, you need to seriously upgrade. Not trying to sound like snobby, but rather trying to help you. You deserve to upgrade to a 1080p if you pc game often. Tell me your budget and I'll try to find you one.

just watched some videos on youtube comparing 1080p vs 720p in BF4 and COD ghosts, couldnt see much of a difference when both were being played at ultra.....
Please tell me if the difference is quiet noticeable when all the other settings are at ultra....
