Parts
Corsair CX 430W
Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2V
Gigabyte GTX750 1GB DDR5
Intel Pentium G3258
Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz KHX16C9B1B/4
Western Digital 1TB 64MB WD10EZEX

I tried win 8.1, ubuntu all from usb, i don't have sata optical drive or other pc to test parts with. Bios recognizes everything, it's on factory default. I ran a check on the pendrive and formatted it slowly just in case, but every install hangs at the very beginning, yet mobo shows all in working order, expect the memory it runs that on cl10 and 1400mhz.

All install hangs right from the start then throws 10-15 minutes after, 0x00000e9 for windows and unable to read sector 'hd0' for linux.

I also tried for windows 8.1 without the hdd plugged in, ram reseated, all usb pulled out with the exception of the pen drive (supposedly windows has a thing against usb ?), it threw the same error, hardware seem to be in a working order as far as i can tell. Most hdd-s are either dead or not, but it's possible bios recognizes it and it's unreadable, but currently i can't test it.

I may get chance to test some parts with an other pc today.

Would love some ideas.

Get into the bios and make sure the HDD is set to ACHI mode, that should clear up the windows error. If it still doesnt work then get on WD webpage and download their test software. The HDD may have a bad sector that its trying to write to when installing.

I did manage to test out ram and hdd, and the hdd gets recognized in bios in both systems, in ACHI mode, but in windows even boots slower with the hdd, and doesn't recognize it even in disk management. It seems like it has more than a bad sector.

The other system with the same hdd and win 8.1 pendrive acts identically to this system.

Should i be worried about the ram doesn't work as advertised, or they just got me with false advertisement and let it go ?
