I am going to use matlab and few tech softwares ...does 2.4ghz going to make a big deal than 1.7ghz.....all relies are appreciated
thanks a tone in advance ;)

Hi Rocktom,

In essence, the 'U' series of processors are ultra low power processors. They do tend to perform slightly below the M series, however in most cases they draw less than half the power than their respective M series processor. The U series are often grouped with lower power RAM and such, leading to a greater battery life.

Given that the U version you've shown is a newer generation than the M version you've posted, I would say that both processors will perform very very similarly for your tasks.

of course a little gaming but main job is on high tech softwares like Matlab ,lab view and editors like dreamweaver ..........my main worry is will 2.4ghz will over go 1.7ghz ...........i mean will the processing speed will be high ?
thanks for ur reply :)

Oh Dreamweaver, I use that and it doesn't require a good laptop. Since those are your main use and multitasking might be needed, then go for the 3110M.

But the clock frequency of i3 4010 U is only 1.7ghz when compared to 2.4 ghz ....of 3110 M !!! so will it make the proceessing speed more and thanks for the valuable information :) ......its absolutely true of what u mentioned about the power consumption and battery life ;)

Actually, as a follow up to my original post - the i3 4010U does not come with any kind of turbo boost technology, so realistically the 3110M will perform better in almost every way.

I would only consider the 'U' if power and long battery life is a concern.

will the processing speed differ too much ?clock speed determines the speed right?then the M i3 will work 40% faster than the U i3 ....if the speed is dependent on clk ....
well,if i am to go for i3U with 6gb ram OR with i3M with 4 gb .......which should i prefer?

if i am to take i3 M with 4 gb or i3U with 6gb ram wich one i should prefer? .......will 6 gb ram too important for matlab, lab view etc (sci software)& editors like dream weaver ...... or only the processing speed....
