Have you considered a Plasma?
Plasma's in my opinion are superior at both tasks, For gaming they offer better motion tracking and better true blacks than LCD's>

Saying that LED's have fantastic colour (Because theyre brighter basically xD) so if i were you just stick away from LCD and whatever your decision it will be a good one :)

I use a monitor for games. A 40 inch TV is way too much uncomfortable for me. And usually it's not easy to know the response time of a TV/

But as per TV, I have a Bravia 32 inch full HD and a LG 24 inch, and I must say I am much more happy with the Sony.

Best thing to do is to take a FHD movie in a pen drive and going to a e-mall or relience digital and trying out what works best for you. And I will stay away from anything with a dealer warranty if I do not know the dealer personally.

I would go with the sony, it has the lowest input lag and so will be better for Gaming.

The Samsung Series 5 40H5100 40'' LED Television is sufficient since it will be connected to a computer so there is no need for smart features http://www.ebay.in/itm/221527912627?_trksid=p2059935.m2...

I sit about 4 feet from my 50" Hisense but I wear sunglasses and it is on an industrial grade rack. I have my tower behind my TV, but there are many different setup methods. Look over USB hubs and get a 12' HDMI cable.
