Ok before you say its garbage and to get an fx-8350; let me say it was a present from my grandfather for building him a cheap powerhouse of a pc and not accepting payment lol.

I have an h60 corsair and I was worried at first but I am not so sure if I should be so. I don't get throttled down on full load neither does my pc shut off just wondering what you guys think. :D

On idle I know I am fairly decent with 31*C (87*F)
this is with internet us, video, playback, or using paint lol.

On full load I reach around 56*C-59*C (132*F-138*F)
this is while running Prime95 on the small FFTs with internet browsing.

For the idle situation I feel ok but those full load temps scare me a bit.

P.S. Also wondering how would I safely downclock this to an 8350, I have dabbled with overclocking but just want to be sure about the safety of downclocking lol if there is any danger at all in the first place.

Solution
Downclocks are always fine, but 59 C load is not very high, and I'd even consider overclocking it even more. However, if you're dead set on downclocking, set the frequency to 4000 MHz (using the Multiplier, not the FSB (the frequency is the Multiplier * FSB in MHz)) downvolt to 1.375 VCore, stress test (Prime 95 Torture) and you're done.

Also before downclocking, I'd just try to lower the voltage. I don't know, how much (if any) reserve in voltage these cpus tend to have, but you don't find if you don't try.
And it would be great if you could post the results :)

EDIT: and if you decide to downclock, afterall, I don't see a reason (well, unless you really don't care about the power) to go directly to the clocks of 8350. Decreasing the frequency by, say, 200 MHz and the voltage as much as possible could already make a big difference in consumption. And I sure don't see any danger there.

AMD CPUs do not like to be over 60C.

I understand your concern. I might go to a little better cooler under those circumstances.

I run a Seidon120 that came with my FX9590 and it stays under 50C in a push/pull (highest temp seen so far is 47-48C under load).

So, I would either recommend setting up better fans on your H60 (stock fans are often not great but not terrible either), and see how that works out. Try the Sickle Flow or Jet Flo series fans. The ones I currently use are 90 CFM Cooler Master fans in push/pull...and they seriously move some air.

@Alpha3031 The temps I am getting are core temps for each of the eight.

To everyone else I was just a bit worried with the full load temps being close to 60*C as I heard that AMD CPUs don't like it above that as 8350Rocks said. I was mostly concerned with the temps because I thought my CPU was clicking loudly but have recently found out that if I ever so slightly move my wrists on my desk the case clicks somehow lol. I wasn't really set on downclocking lol and after reading your guys responses I definitely am not going to. I will try a push and pull config. and if that doesn't please me I will probably upgrade the cooler.

Thanks for the advice guys and sorry for taking so long to reply!!
