Hello every one,
I'm trying to build a gaming pc on a very tight budget atm, with no GPU, need to build it fast because my current one will probably die in the next couple of days. Here is what I've decided on parts, and what they cost locally( In Romania) :
Notes: I will be adding a MSI r9 280 twin frozr IV in about 2 months to it.
- Don't care for overcloking, sli or crossfire, 16gb of ram or anything like that.
CPU: Intel core i5 4460 - $230
RAM: Corsair vengeance LP Rev.A 2x4gb - $115
PSU: Antec Neo Eco 620c 620w 80+ Bronze - $80
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1tb - $70
CASE: Thermaltake Commander GS III - $55
and I have another $60-$70 to spend on the motherboard.
Questions:
Since I'm trying to keep this to a low budget I want to use a h81m motherboard...problem is, the more reviews I read the more problems I seem to find with almost all of them.
Either CPU doesn't work without BIOS updates first(a lot of them), horrible NIC(asus-k), too much heat (some asrock boards) etc...
At the same time I see people running i5's on them no problem.
1. So which h81m motherboard will be good for me? Is it even ok to put an i5 on a h81m?
EDIT: Would the MSI 81m-p33 or Asus H81m-E be ok for this system?
2. I assume that PSU will be able to hold the i5 and r9 280 just fine? No site sells XFX here, and most of the suggested PSU's on this forum are about double the price of that one.
3. How can I update a bios if the cpu is not supported in the first place? (don't have a spare intel cpu around).
4. I saw that some graphics cards go to 5.5ghz effective memory clock or w/e it's called, total but pcie 2.0 is only listed at 5ghz, does that mean I need a pcie 3.0 board in case I decide to buy another graphics card that totals 5.5ghz like the new r9 285?
Also if you have any suggestion please go ahead, but I like I said keep in mind tight budget
Any help is much appreciated.
