Vista username/password issues

I have a home LAN with a VISTA laptop and an XP desktop along with a Buffalo Tech NAS. Several days ago, the laptop started asking for a username/password when I clicked on any device in the LAN. Password protected sharing is OFF. The XP desktop has no issue accessing the other devices. I have not found any answers on point in any forum anywhere.

Tried that this morning - same issue - Also, the Vista laptop can access the XP desktop with no problem. Could a Windows update have caused the change?
