So recently, I've decided that I wanted to hook back up my second monitor for working. It was a struggle without it.

I realized that my GPU (Radeon 7950) did not have 2 ports that I could plug into. I did not want to go out and buy a cable to make it possible, so I decided to grab my old GTX 550 Ti. I wasn't sure if this would work, but I gave it a shot.

It seems it works, but I'm not sure it's actually splitting up the "work" - I apologize for not being able to explain well. I'm not very good with display stuff.

When having a Twitch stream on one, or even a Youtube video, my screens slow down. By that, I mean everything seems to have a frames drop. Why would this be?

EDIT: I should also add that it only slows down if I have 2 "graphics" things running. For example, a Youtube video playing, and some sort of game... like Hearthstone.

It seems that it's just pulling from the 7950, but even so... I would think it would be able to handle 2 monitors easily. Any advice?

What is your mother board ?. Most not gaming motherboard have only one PCIE slot 2.0/3.0 X16.

This mean if you plug two Graphic card, they will run X8 instead of X16 which mean half bandwidth.

Anyone have any tips? I've got the GTX 550 running off the last PCIE slot. Would this cause what's happening? Is there anything else I could do besides move it if this is the problem?

Yeah running on the last will cause a problem. the last PCIE slot is a X4 2.0

Place the two cards on the two first slots. It will give you a X8 2.0 which is not optimal, but will work. But note that this will lower your gaming performance.
