Which CPU to get ?

I have a few questions concerning a pc build and I would be very thankful for your help.
1. Which CPU should I get ? AMD FX 9370 or Intel i5 4690k (If you suggest getting i5 couldit having only 4 cores become an issue in the near future ?
2.Which GPU would best with the chosen CPU ? The gtx 770 or the radeon r9 280x ?
3. And finally, considering that the other parts would be decent for the build, could the system let me play present games and future games on ULTRA 1080p with everything maxed out ?

Solution
1: I would compare the i5 4690k and the FX 8350 as it can be overlclocked to near 9370 speeds. You cannot go wrong with either but if games is your concern then the i5 because it has stronger cores but the FX is perfectly capable of driving most games over 60 frames with a decent GPU. The future is uncertain, I cannot state on that. But I wish it does because intel keep ripping us off, want more competition.
2: R9 280x, its a rebranded HD 7970 and thats more powerful than a GTX 770 whihc is a rebranded GTX 680. A R9 280x has more Vram and a larger memory bus
3: Yes it should for the next three years, most titles anyway.

The i5 has much stronger cores over the FX & is more efficient & runs cooler. Its single & dual core performance is way higher & heavy threaded apps are close. The R9 280X is a great card for the price & will run games on Ultra.

I recommend a Xeon 1231v3, which is basically an i7 4770 without the integrated graphics, and the 280x. It is priced less than the i7, and will have you covered with regards to your concerns of more than 4 cores being necessary. Even the FX 9590 cannot outperform it. You can pair it with a cheaper motherboard, and do not need to worry about aftermarket cooling. Even if you wanted better cooling, a hyper TX3 is plenty sufficient.

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X Video Card ($273.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $621.95

I'll most likely going choose the 4690k and the 280x combo, just have one last question, once again concerning the cores. How long approximately will I be able to play games on ULTRA, before I'm going to need a change ?

Depends on how well they code the games; well coded can see ultra happening for 3 years, perhaps longer. Badly coded games may pop up next week which you would not be able to run on ultra.

Ultimately, there is no sure thing in gaming and never has been. At least the PCs last a hell of a lot longer near the top than they did 10 years ago and cost a hell of a lot less...all I can say is the build you are looking at is a very good gaming build.
