Dear Tech group
I recently installed a GTX-650 graphics card (4GB dedicated video memory) on my computer. When i run dxdiag on windows 7 ultimaate 64 bit, it shows that the total video memory is "1742 MB" while it should be 4096 MB. I do not know why it does not show the full video memory. It happened that i have windows 8 ultimate also installed on my pc , so when i run "dxdiag" it mentions that the total video memory is 4096 MB. Your support would be much appreciated.

Which specific make and model# 650 do you have? you can find the sticker on the backside of the GPU usually. There arent many 4gb 650's...
You may have 2gb dedicated vram and 2gb shared system ram which is what dxdiag is seeing.

The card is Gigabyte GV-N650OC-4GI

PCIE 3.0/4GB GDDR5

I also suspected that the card includes 2GB dedicated RAM only but needed to confirm. Anyway the company should have stated clearly that 4GB is not the actual dedicated RAM capacity.
