I got a request from my Avast Internet Security program to allow consent.exe to access the internet. Since I have never seen this program file before, I denied that access. Boot up continued as normal. Now I'm trying to find out what this program is and whether it is safe to let it access the web. With all the information about rouge files taking over computers or stealing the information contained on user computers, I need to know if this file is safe. Avast scan of the file doesn't find any virus threats. Any one have any idea?
