I have an Alienware Aurora R1 and have upgraded my Graphics card to an EVGA GeForce GTX 780 6GB. The issue is as soon as I plug in a second monitor the computer will not boot and goes to a 6 beep code. If I plug in either monitor into either slots it works fine, but 2 monitors is a no go. The power supply is 875watts so I'm sure it can handle it. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks!

That is normally a power problem :)

Keep in mind that some manufacturers that implement the HDMI and DisplayPort protocols made their power distribution unlimited (my opinion, but it boggles my mind). Sometimes I get the same problem if I try and boot a computer connected to an HDMI or DisplayPort monitor and the monitor is not plugged in to power.

Is the DVI connected monitor Dual Link? You could be running into a problem with the DVI converter on the video card itself as all of your data is coming out of the video card over DVI.

It would also help to know the make and models of monitors that you are using.

With dual monitors, its best to use one port of one kind and one of another (unless its displayport), since DVI tends to misbehave when 2 dvi outputs are in use. Basically what Wildfire said.

Thanks for all the help, it seems that everyone solved this problem. I had an extension cable for the monitor to reach the computer. It seems the GTX didn't like this and the computer would refuse to boot. A direct connection into the card(via a DVI to VGA converter) did the trick. This should have seemed obvious but considering my old GTX 480 didn't have an issue, I didn't think that it would be an issue with the newer card. I think exban224 provided the solution as all the "6 beeps" info I read said graphics card issue. exban said VGA issue with opened up the solution for me.

Thanks!
